America Day 25 & 26 - Somewhere in Utah and The Grand Ditch

I feel that all I have seen the last two days is rocks and dirt! I guess it is cool rock and dirt though.

DAY 25

After all the excitement in Durango this was not going to be the best day. I was way too tired. Luckily I got to sleep heaps on the bus though. AND to make matters worse... hello sickness! Egh... not cool while trying to have fun.

Our first exciting stop for the day was Monument Valley. It was just a big park full of big rocks. Okay so I may not have appreciated its beauty because I wasn't feeling really well and on the bus we had to take through the valley was so dirty and dusty it made me feel worse. It was actually really beautiful though.

Wow... lots of dirt and rocks

Oh, more dirt and rocks... and a tree!

See, we were all excited about the only tree we found in the middle of the dirt and rocks!

Then it was off to the Grand Ditch! It is actually pretty grand though. I really cannot describe it really and the pictures do not so it justice. It is one of those things that you have to see to believe!

That's one Grand Ditch!

I'm the king of the world... or the queen of the canyon

Then it was off to bed to try get over being sick!

DAY 26

Well, the early night didn't help much. I think I woke up worse then I was the day before. I could not miss my helicopter flight over the Canyon though!

First time I had ever been in a helicopter too. It was so much fun. The best part was flying over the tree when we were initially flying towards the canyon. The canyon was hidden and then all of a sudden we reach the edge and it just drops. Absolutely amazing.

It is impossible for me to portray the size if it. It is absolutely enormous. We were told that if you put every single person in the world into the canyon you still would not fill it. It truly is remarkable! One huge ditch!

These pictures really do not do the canyon any justice. I was in awe of it's size and beauty.

Then I got really upset because I was so sick and everyone was going on hikes into the canyon but I could hardly breath let alone hike. So I made the sensible decision and went to sleep for the entire day. I have to be all rested and all better for Vegas tomorrow!!!
